As promised, today I will tell you how to insert pictures in Word. Last time we learned all about what illustrations are and how to insert them. You will find that it is very east to insert pictures into your documents and it can really be fun as well.
Follow the steps below to learn how:
- Go to your Insert Tab and the Illustrations section. I would like you to follow along so we will begin by selecting a photo that has been saved locally on your computer.
- Click Pictures and a small menu will drop down, containing three options:
Insert Picture From:
This Device
Stock Images
Online Pictures
- Below this drop down menu, you will see different options for where you would like to insert a picture. (see above)
- This Device: Will open File Explorer and allow you to select a picture stored anywhere o your computer.
- Stock Images: Will open a library of royalty – free images, icons, cutout people, stickers, and illustrations which you may select and use in your documents. These images are copy right free. Be aware though that this option is only available to Microsoft 365 subscribers.
- Online Pictures: Will open a selection of pictures from online sources that you can search through using the Bing search engine. Pictures from online sources may be subject to copyright restrictions. You may also access your OneDrive from here.
- Once you have selected a picture, click Insert in the lower right-hand corner.
- The Insert button will be in the lower-right corner for all three options.
