At the moment we, where I live, we are dealing with Brood X – cicadas that surface from the ground every 17 years. They are in full swing now and the noise they make to attract a mate can be deafening. It is particularly difficult for me because I have a phobia about bugs and these things are flying all over the place. When I have to go outside I do so at a dead run to hurry and get in the car before one of them lands on me. Irrational I know, but it is just who I am. The good news is that by the end of the month the cicadas will be gone and I can again enjoy the outdoors without worrying about bugs!
On the plus side, things seem to be slowly moving back to a new normal. I find it difficult to go places without a mask because I am so used to wearing one now. They didn’t seem to bother me at the height of the pandemic but I find them uncomfortable now. I am slowly going out again to do a little shopping and such but I am not going hog wild just yet. Color me cautious!
I hope that life is treating you well and that things are somewhat normal for you again. Please remember to take care of those less fortunate and above all be kind to everyone. That smile or kind word may be the best thing that happens in someone’s life that day.
Until next time, take care of you!
