The default for PowerPoint is Normal view, but once you save a file, PowerPoint will open that file in the view last saved. Do you really want PowerPoint deciding which view to use when you open a file? It may make good sense but it shouldn’t it ultimately be your choice?
Follow the steps below to reset the default view:
- Click the Office button | PowerPoint Options.
- Select Advanced in the left-hand pane.
- Select the option most suited to your liking from the Open all Documents Using This View drop-down in the Display section.
- Click OK.
