In previous posts I have covered how Word provides us with multiple shapes that we can employ which brighten up your documents and ads extra oomph to boot!
So, today I will tell you about inserting icons in your documents. Icons are simply drawings of familiar symbols or images that can also be added to your documents. These images are black and white line drawings, usually with different versions of the same image. Icons in Word are the same as shapes (i.e., vector graphics). They are copyright free as well.
Follow the steps below to learn how:
- Go to Illustrations where you will find the Icons option.
- Once there, click the Icons option and the Icons window will be displayed.
- From that display you will see literally thousands of icons from which to select. At the top, you will see a search bar that will assist you in finding exactly the icon you are looking for.
- Under the Search bar you will find category buttons that you can press to see myriad icons. Just scroll through the different categories using the right arrow on the right edge of the window near the category buttons.
- Once you have found the icon of your choosing, simply click on it and this will place it in your document where your insertion point is situated.
- You will also have a variety of options that you can employ to change the color and size of your icon. You can find these options and more in the Graphics Format tab.
It would behoove you to familiarize yourselves with great functions. Once you do, I think you’re gonna love them!
