Everyone has been back to school for at least four weeks now and having the right tools at your fingertips to collect, manage and understand information effectively is key.
One of the tools that can really help you is Microsoft OneNote! Students can benefit from many of the features and functions in OneNote and its available across many platforms, which is one of the great things that make it such a powerful piece of software. Add to that, the ability to sync your notes and captured information and you can see why I say it is such a good tool for students! You can use OneNote on the Web and on many other platforms (i.e., IOS, Android, and Mac OS). If you have a Tablet device, it is even better!
Follow the steps below to learn how easily you can benefit using OneNote:
If you want to prepare notes or practice your penmanship, you can use the Rule Sheet option. I always recommend using this for note taking. It’s neat in appearance and easy to read using this.
- Create a new page.
- Select the View tab.
- Click the Rules button.
- Select one of the available Ruled lines (i.e., Narrow,College, Standard or Wide).
- You can even choose what color your lines will be.
- You can use OneNote to create a grid as well if you need to plot a graph.
- From the same View tab, select the Rule menu and the type of grid you would like.
Equations:
You can solve Math problems using the easy convert and solve equations button. OneNote does not just address the problem, it shows you how it is done!
Simply write your equation, select it using the selection tool under your Draw tab.
This will open a task pane where you can see a conversion of your equation.
Bear in mind that OneNote is not infallible. So if you see an error, click the Fix It link and follow the instructions to make a selection and correct the error.
When you are ready to solve your math problem, click in the resolve list box and select the solution. OneNote will provide a step-by-step of how the problem was solved.
Audio and Video:
You can capture audio and video using OneNote as long as you have a tablet or a Smartphone also.
You can use Whiteboards too – directly from within OneNote app for iOS or Android. Just tap the plus button, tap Photo – it will take a picture of your Whiteboard.
Capture Notes:
OneNote works with popular Web browsers like Chrome. The new extensions functionality in Edge on the Widows 10 Anniversary Update. You can easily clip content from a Web page and save it to OneNote on your OneDrive.
