Flip a Drawing Object in MS Excel

If you have ever had a drawing object in your worksheet and wanted to flip it either horizontally or vertically and didn’t know how, this article is for you!

Follow the steps below to learn how:

  1. Click on the object you would like to flip and Excel will place handles (that look like small boxes and circles) around your object.
  2. Be certain the Format tab of your Ribbon is displayed.
  3. In the Arrange group of your Ribbon, click the down-arrow next to the Rotate tool and you will see a list of tasks that you can choose to perform.
  4. From that list of tasks, select either Flip Horizontal or Flip Vertical and Excel will flip your object in the direction of your choice.

Is Winter Over Yet???

I don’t know how you are all faring in your little corner of the world but we have been inundated with snow of late.  Day before yesterday we got about fifteen inches of snow dumped on us and then last evening we were gifted with another four to six inches.  The forecast for tonight is another four inches of snow!   Springtime where ARE you???  Canada, we have found your weather and would appreciate it if you could pick it up and take it back home!

A week ago we had a snow storm and we awoke at 2:30 in the morning to a very loud noise and it turned out to be a tree that had fallen onto our roof!  I can tell you when those trees fall they make a bodacious noise – especially when you are sound asleep!  We also had two trees fall in our driveway, one across the road and about twenty other trees in and around our property.  It is a right mess!  So you can see why I am longing for Springtime!

I guess when you consider all the horrible weather occurrences around the world we have not fared too badly but still and all…I could surely welcome some warm weather!

Wherever you are situated, I hope that you are snug, warm and dry and have plenty of food.

Please try to remember those less fortunate than yourselves and knit up a scarf for a person who is out in the cold or some mittens or donate some food to a shelter or a blanket.  We never know when we might find ourselves in those circumstances and I like to think that were if it I, someone would help me.

Hang in there!  Spring has to arrive sooner or later!

Move Paragraphs Around your Word Documents Whenever!

Here’s a slick little trick that a lot of folks don’t know about and it comes in very handy and saves you time, frustration and keystrokes!

Follow the steps below to learn how to move paragraphs around in your documents:

  • To move a paragraph up or down in your document, click in the paragraph you would like to move and then click Shift + alt + Up Arrow or Down Arrow.

That very same key combination will move an entire table row up or down in your table. When the top or bottom of your table is reached, it will detach the table row from your table to create another table which will continue moving through your page, which is a much simpler way to split a table.

And, as an added bonus, this tip will be useful in just about any version of Word that you use!

Quickly Accent Characters in MS Word

MS Word allows us to create accented letters in our documents very quickly using the accent shortcuts that are built into it. All you really have to do is use the shortcut key combination and then add the letter to be accented!

Follow the steps below to learn how:

Circumflex – CTRL + Shift +^, followed by one of (a, e.i, o, u)

Grav e- CTRL + `, followed by one of (a.e.i, o, u)

Acute- CTRL + ‘, followed by one of (a, e, o, u, y)

Cedilla – CTRL + , followed by c

Umlaut – CTRL + Shift + :, followed by one of (a, e, i, o, u, y)

Pretty simple when you know how huh?
