If, like me, you would to use your time very judiciously, this is the tip for you!
As anyone who reads my newsletter knows, I am the queen of saving time and keystrokes.
When you are in the middle of your presentation and suddenly have the need to end it (i.e., lunch break, etc.), what to do?
You could act like an amateur and quickly click through the remainder of your slides sans comments, but that kind of spoils the the fresh start after lunch break doesn’t it?
Instead, you can quickly and easily end your presentation and look like a professional!
Follow the steps below to learn how:
- Launch PowerPoint.
- Open your presentation (it doesn’t matter which one).
- On the View tab of your Ribbon, in the Master Views group, click Slide Master (in version 2007, Presentation Views group), to open the slide Master.
- In version 2003, click View | Slide Master | Master.
- Click the Insert tab of your Ribbon and in the Illustrations group, click the Shapes drop-down arrow.
- From the resulting menu, at the bottom of the gallery, in Action Buttons, select the Custom action button.
- On your slide, drag where you would like to position your action button. This will launch the Action Settings dialog.
- Click the Hyperlink To option.
- Select Last Slide from the drop-down.
- Click OK.
You have many choices – you can make your action button invisible or use a graphic that is included in your design. You could use any slide other than the Last slide option.
- Return to the Slide Master ribbon and click Close Master View.
You can now run your presentation and test your button. Of course, you can do this by clicking your F5 function button.
