A reader recently wrote to me to inquire how to add space before a table row. Now this might not sound like a big deal but it can be if your table is formatted with borders and your text is too close to the border at the top of the row. You can very easily add space after your data in a row by adjusting the row height so that it is greater than the space occupied by the data in your row. You can do this using paragraph formatting.
Follow the steps below to learn how to add space before a row:
- Display the Home tab of your Ribbon.
- In the Paragraph group, click the bottom-right icon that looks like a small arrow, which will display the Paragraph dialog box.
- Make sure the Indents and Spacing tab is displayed and under Spacing, in the Before box, use the spin arrows to select the spacing of your choice.
- Click OK.
