This is a nifty tip for teachers and really anyone who could utilize the check box feature in Word 2010. The check box controls are a visual medium giving you two choices (i.e., yes or no, true or false, on or off, etc.)
Using your imagination, I am sure you could come up with many two-state situations where check boxes would come in very handy.
Follow the steps below to learn how to use check box content controls:
- Create your document, which will be a table.
- Enter a check box content control into each of your cells.
- Now, click your Developer tab.
- Click the Check Box Content Control in your Controls group.
- Click the right-arrow key and then add a space or tab before entering a name..
- In version 2007, click the Legacy Tools drop-down int he Controls group and select Check Box Form Field.
- In version 2003, insert a check box form field from the Form toolbar. When using check box form fields in versions 2003 and 2007, you must protect your document to use the check box controls.
The names of those attending the MS Word Training class get a check. An empty check box denotes an absentee student.
Now put your imagination to work and think up all the instances where you can use check box controls!
