There are myriad reasons why you would want/need to paste a hyperlink in your document. No, I am not talking about a hyperlink to someplace on the Web which is what most folks think of when I mention a hyperlink.
What I am talking about is a link to another document. You know, when you read something and think “what is that all about.” Would it not be great to just click it and instantly be taken to another document that explains it to you?
It is fairly commonplace to copy and paste information from one document to another.
Using a minor variation on pasting, you can make pasted information appear as a hyperlink in your document.
Follow the steps below to learn how:
- Select the information you would like to copy and press Ctrl+C, which will copy the information to your Clipboard.
- Place your cursor where you would like your link to appear.
- Right-click and select Hyperlink.
- Once you click that, another dialog box will open:
- From there, navigate to the document of your choice and select where you want the hyperlink to take you.
- Click OK.
The information will now appear as a hyperlink in your document. If you hold down the Ctrl key as you click on it, you will be taken directly to the spot in the original document from which it was copied.

Please send the hyperlink instructions to me. The covering makes it difficult for me to read.
So how is using hyperlink different from a bookmark? When should you use one and/or the other and which is better?
Tried this once but my message disappeared. What is the difference between this kind of hyperlink and a bookmark. When should one or the other be used and/or which is better?
It is really a matter of personal preference, that is all as far as I am concerned. Whichever one you like the more or find the easiest to use, unless someone else has a better answer.
