So, you have copied a very large amount of data from your worksheet in Excel and it is sitting on your Clipboard waiting for you to paste it into your Word document. But, wait, you’re a very busy person today and you also have to move or copy some other piece of information first. Oh no! You don’t want to have to go back and select and copy all that other information from your worksheet again!
Luckily for you there is a simple method to accomplish this without overwriting the data you have already copied to your Clipboard!
Follow the steps below to learn how:
- Highlight the part of your document that you would like to move or copy.
- Keep it highlighted.
- Now navigate to the location in your document where you would like to move it, but do not click there yet.
Now do this:
To move your text:
- Click CTRL and right-click on the new location. You can also click F2 | move to the location |click Enter.
To copy your text:
Click CTRL + Shift and right-click the new location. You can also click Shift + F2 | move to your location and click Enter.
You can now do your usual Copy & Paste to insert your Clipboard data into your document.
