Everyone is Irish

As I sit here preparing this newsletter for you the rain is falling. Depressing? Well let me just say I am very grateful that it is rain and not snow that is falling! Don't get me wrong, I love nice bright and sunshiny days. I can move mountains when the sun is shining but as the old adage goes "into every life a little rain must fall." I am grateful for the rain because it will nourish the flowers sure to be blooming soon.

I can officially announce that Spring is here in my little corner of the world. The peepers held their first symphony this past week and what a sweet sound it was! Every evening of late as I arrive home I step out of my car and stand very still listening for the sound of the peepers. But this week I heard them faintly even before I exited the car. I just love to listen to their song as dusk is falling. It doesn't take much to make me happy! I love this time of year with such promise of new beginnings and nature so alive with rebirth.

Wherever you are from, I hope that you are enjoying this time of year and all the special times it brings your way. Try to take a moment or two every day to just live in the moment and be thankful for the good things in your life.

For those of you who celebrate, Happy St. Patrick's Day from me and my Irish clan to you and yours!

Spice Up your Borders in MS Excel

It is surprising that more folks don't use the Borders tool in MS Excel. You do know that you can use a border other than that thin black solid line right? There are other options available to you that do not appear on the Borders tool that will allow you to add some glam to your spreadhseet.

Follow the steps below to learn how:

  • Click on Format | Cells.
  • Click the Border tab.
  • There, you will see that you can use different colors for your borders, even in the same cell!

You can create borders of different thicknesses. There are dashed borders to select from too. Heck, you can even create diagonal borders if you want!

If you need to see e-mail from specific clients quickly at a glance, MS Excel has an option that will make that easier for you.

  5. Select a color from the second drop-down list.
  6. Click Apply Color and close the pane.

Now MS Outlook will display all messages, both exiting and new from the person you specified in the color you chose.

Rearrange Commands on your Outlook Menus, etc.
