[December 1, 2008]

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I thoroughly enjoyed mine. It was great seeing all our extended family and catching up on everyone's lives. I do indeed have much for which to be thankful!
My family and I have adopted a family who has fallen on hard times for this Christmas, as we did last year. I think perhaps that is one of the major reasons why we are here - to help one another along life's way. I think that my family and I receive perhaps more enjoyment that the family we help; it's a great feeling to give of yourself so that someone else will be happy. So we started playing Santa the day after Thanksgiving and now my living room is starting to look like Santa's workshop. We were tired at the end of the day but it was a pleasant tired. I hope you all experience the joy of doing for others this holiday season too!
