Thanksgiving Horn

This is the time of year when I try to take stock and remember all the things I am most thankful for. Of course, my family tops the list, but there are so many other folks and things that I am grateful for. You, my loyal subscribers, are right up there at the top of the list. Without you there would be no newsletter. I'm also thankful for all my wonderful, helpful friends who have given me so much help and support over the years. I am thankful that I am able to help others as well. Some folks don't realize what a good feeling it gives you to give of your time or money or whatever else it takes to help another human being. I exhort everyone to give it a try because once they have experienced the good feeling it gives you they are hooked. So once again, thank you for your interests and support. Because of that, you and I together are helping others far less fortunate than ourselves, especially in these troubled economic times.

Happy Thanksgiving from my faimly to yours! Please take time to remember and be grateful for all the blessings in your lives.

Please help me to welcome Stephen, Robert and Winston as our newest premium subscribers. Welcome to the family!

Apply a Fill Effects Background in MS PowerPoint

Using fill effects in MS PowerPoint can give your presentation some razzle dazzle! I usually use this on my first slide, expecially when creating a picture album.

To use one of the fill effects options in MS PowerPoint, follow the steps below:

  1. Click on Format | Background.
  2. Click the drop-down list and then click Fill Effects.
  3. When the dialog box appears, you can select from four possible background types.

To apply a gradient background, follow the steps below:

  • Click the Gradient tab.
  • The Fill Effects dialog box now includes the options that are available for applying a gradient background. You can now select one of the options described above.
  • After you have chosen a fill option for your presentation, click OK to return to the Background dialog box.

Apply a one-color gradient fill and see colors fade slowly from dark to light:

  • You can select the fill color by dropping down the the Color 1 list. Change the intensity of the color by dragging the slider to the left or right.

Apply a two-color gradient where colors gradually fade from one shade to the next:

  • Click the drop-down list associated with Color 1 and Color 2 to select each color.
  • Apply a preset gradient fill that utilizes distinctive color or style combinations:
  • Select a shading style and variant to further enhance your gradient choice. The shading style refers to the way the colors are applied to the slide
  • After selecting a style, you can select additional variations of that style or variants that will work best for you.

Now sit back and enjoy your creation!
