Kitty has been having a fever again!! If you have an indoor cat please do not get the distemper shot for it. This is what the problem is with my cat - they have a severe reaction and nobody knows how to treat it. Keep thinking good thoughts for her and hopefully she will recover.
Here is a news flash for you! It has come to my attention that a site is posting my articles and are charging people $55.00 a year to view them. Please know that I have not given my permission to anyone to use my articles for their profit! Outlook Text Messaging
Were you aware that you could text message someone using MS Outlook? Well I wasn't. Shame on me! And I really do try to keep abreast of new technology. In any event, I have very little use for texting and rarely every use it. Perhaps that is why I just came upon this.
Many times we send e-mails or appointment requests to people, knowing full good and well that they are not going to be seated at their desks or anywhere in the vacinity of a computer at that particular moment. But suppose you want them to know about this information straight away? Hmmm....everyone has a cell phone with them just about every waking moment nowadays! Ok then, now you see where this is leading...
All you really need to know is the person's cell phone service provider. The e-mail address where you send text messages is almost always in the format below:
ten digit cell phone number@provider.
Below is a list of provider e-mail formats for your texting pleasure:
- ATT or Cingular - number@cingularme.com
- number@mobile.mycingular.com
- number@txt.att.com
- T-Mobile - number @tmomail.com. If that doesn't work, try number @tmomail.net
- Verizon - number@vtext.com
- Spring - number@messagin.sprintpcs.com
- Alltel - number@message.alltel.com
- Virgin Mobile - numer @vmobl.com
- Boost - number @myboostmobile.com
You should be aware though, that the recipient of your text message may be required to pay for the incoming message so please make sure that they are on board with that prior to texting them. I surely do not want to receive a lot of hate mail for letting you know about this!
Automatically Start MS Office Program when You Boot
If you are anything like me, you use the same MS Office programs over and over again, so why not save some time and keystrokes and energy by having those programs open automatically when you turn on your computer?
Follow the steps below to learn how to work this particular magic:
In Microsoft Windows:
- On the Start menu, click on All Programs | Microsoft Office.
- In the list of available Office programs, right-click the icon of the program or programs you want to start automatically.
- Click Copy in the shortcut menu.
- In the All Programs list, right-click the Startup folder and click Explore on the shortcut menu.
- On the Edit menu, click Paste.
- To paste your selection quickly into the Startup folder, use CTRL + V.
The next time you start your computer, Windows will automatically run the program or programs of your choice.
In Windows Vista:
- Click the Office button.

- Click Microsoft Office.
- In the list of available Office programs, right-click the icon of the program or programs you would like to start automatically and then click Copy on the shortcut menu.
- In the All Programs list, right-click the Startup folder and click Explore on the shortcut menu.
- In the window that opens, click Organize, and then click Paste or CTRL + V.
The next time you start your computer, Windows will automatically run the program or programs of your choice.
I knew you would like this one!
Moving Fonts Along with MS Word Documents
I know my loyal subscribers work diligently to get their documents just right. They format them and select special fonts and get everything set up and laid out until it is perfect!
Have you ever gone to all that trouble only to find that you sent it to someone and it didn't look the same at all?
Well you can have MS Word save your TrueType fonts with your document so the computers you share with will also have them. Follow the steps below to find out how:
- Click on Tools | Options.
- Click on the Save tab.
- One of the options you will see is to embed TrueType fonts.
- Select it.

That pretty much does it! Now your formatting will be preserved regardless of whom you send your document!
