Merry Christmas from my family to yours! I know that not all of my subscribers celebrate Christmas, but I do and I would like to share my holiday with you and would hope that you would want to share your holiday with me as well.
I wish you all peace, joy, love, hope and mostly hope - hope for a year of peaace and hopef for an end to hunger and war. It's a time for introspection and thoughtfulness. Let us all think of ways to make this world a little bit better for having been here.

Customize Comment Text in Word
Changing the size and font of comments in MS Word is easy. You can use standard formatting commands to modify the text in comment balloons as you type.
The steps below will show you how:
- On the Format menu, click Styles and Formatting, which will open the Styles and Formatting task pane in the right margin.
- In the task pane, under Pick formatting to apply, make sure the Comment Text entry is visible. If it is, go to step 3; if it isn't, follow the steps below:
- On the Show drop-down menu, click Custom.
- in the Format Settings dialog box, under Style to be visible, click Comment Text, and then click OK.
- Under Pick formatting to apply, right-click the Comment Text Entry, and then click Modify.
- Make the selections you want.
- To see more options, click Format, and then click the attribute that you want to change.
- Click OK after you;ve changed each attribute.
- Repeat steps 5 and 6 above, for any additional attributes you want to edit.
Align Shapes in your Word Dcoument Using Gridlines
Microsoft Word features a drawing grid you can use to align drawing objects, such as AutoShapes. By default, gridlines are not visible on the screen. To make them visible:
- On the View menu, point to Toolbars and click Drawing.
- On the Drawing toolbar, click Draw, and then click Grid.
- Select the Display gridlines on screen check box.
- Choose the options you want, and then click OK.
Now you are ready to add shapes to your document. To see all of the shapes available, such as filing cabinets, telephones, and computer monitors, click AutoShapes on the Drawing toolbar and then click More AutoShapes. Then make your selections from the Insert Clip Art task pane.
Navigate Long Documents Easily with Hidden Bookmarks
When you work with long documents in MS Word, it can be difficult to remember where certain information appears. But when you use hidden bookmarks, you can quickly navigate to that information. Hidden bookmarks are easy to add and easy to use, and you can put them anywhere you want.
To add a bookmark:
- Click anywhere in your document where you want to place a bookmark.
- On the Insert menu, click Bookmark.
- When the Bookmark dialog box opens, name your bookmark.
- Then click Add.
To find your bookmark:
- Press F5 to open the Find and Replace dialog box.
- Click the Go To tab, and type the bookmark name in the Enter page number field.
- Click the Go To button to get to the information you bookmarked.
Keep Track of Changes with Shared Worksheet Feature
With Excel's shared worksheet feature, you can view other users' insertions and deletions and decide whethe to keep or delete them.
At the end of a quarter, you might distribute a summary sales worksheet to all department heads. To keep track of their changes, insertions and deletions, you need to designate the workbook as a shared workbook before distribution. To do so, follow these steps:
- Go to Tools | Share Workbook.
- Under the Editing tab, select the check box, and then click OK.
In order to view changes as other users make them to the worksheet, follow these steps:
- Open the workbook and go to Tools | Track Changes.
- Click Accept or Reject Changes.
- Click the When text box and select Not Yet Reviewed.
- Select Everyone from the Who text box.
- Click OK.
Excel will walk you through all the changes since the last review. At each change, you can decide whether to keep (accept) or delete (reject) the change.
