Many times you wish to have a non-breaking hyphen in your document. For example, when you type a phone number, you do not want to have three numbers at the end of one line and a hyphen at the beginning of the next line. It’s just poor form. This is just one example but there are many other reasons why you would want to use a non-breaking hyphen in your documents.
Follow the steps below to learn how to insert a non-breaking hyphen:
- Click on Insert | Symbol.
- Click on the Special Characters tab.
- Highlight the Non-breaking hyphen character.
- Click on Insert.
- Click on Cancel to close the dialog box.
